About this blog

I started this blog in the summer of 2008 as a travel blog when I spent five weeks singing in a small town in Italy. I only created it because I had thought of a clever name: Felice Mi Fa. I was covering the role of Musetta in La Boheme, and it is she who sings that line in her aria Quando m'en vo.

Even while I was abroad it became clear that this blog would be about more than opera, because even though I sing opera it is not all that I think about. So I committed the cardinal sin of blogging by muddying my brand, writing about singing and about faith.

The truth is, I've never been able to choose between my two loves of music and theology, and I don't think I should have to. So whether you are reading because you are interested in opera or in prayer, I hope you find something here that moves you. This discipline of writing has helped me find my voice, and I am beyond grateful to those of you who, by listening to my voice, have shaped it.
